What do I need to start taking driving lessons?
To obtain car training you are required one of the following:
• A valid class 7 learners license, OR
• A valid class 5 driver’s license, OR
• A valid international driver’s license
Can I take a practice knowledge test for ICBC?
Yes, ICBC does have a practice knowledge test for your class 7 license which you can use to see if you are prepared for your actual test. Just go to practicetest.icbc.com
What do you teach in your Class 5/Class 7 car training packages?
Our skilled instructors teach everything from the basics up. We provide you with the skills you need to drive safely and confidently. Our car lesson packages cover:
• Pre-driving safety check
• Left and right turns at stop signs and traffic lights
• Proper lane changing
• Safe following distance
• One-way streets
• Appropriate speed control for road conditions
• Parking (hills, perpendicular, parallel)
• U-turns, 3-point turns, 2-point turns
• Heavy traffic driving
• Highway driving
• Gravel roads
• Adverse road conditions
• Road test simulation/practice
WHAT ARE THE PREREQUISITES TO ENROLL IN THE CLASS 1 MELT (MANDATORY ENTRY LEVEL TRAINING) PROGRAM?
- Must be 19 years of age.
- Must hold a Class 1 learners licence
- Must meet ICBC driving record pre-screening requirements
- Must meet ICBC vision and medical requirements
ARE THEIR ANY FUNDING OR GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR THE CLASS 1 MELT PROGRAM?
You may eligible to receive assistance paying for the training from government programs such as:

What do I need to take the ride hailing program (Class 4 restricted)?
To register in the ride hailing training, you need to get a Class 4 learner’s license by taking the knowledge (written) test at ICBC.
What do I need to take the Code 20 or code 7 endorsement training?
For Code 20 or Code 7 endorsement training, you need to get a Class 3 learner’s license by taking the knowledge (written) test at ICBC.
Can I bring someone with me for my driving lessons?
Due to liability issues we don’t allow passengers to ride along during driver’s training.
